Photo Repairs: Enhance Those Special Moments Digitally
With the improvements in technology in recent years, having photo repairs done on your old damaged photos can be a quick and inexpensive process, and one that you should seriously consider. Photos that at one time may have been considered lost causes can now not only be repaired, they can be altered to something much more memorable than the original photograph was.
How much do photo repairs cost? How long will the repairs take? The answer to that really depends on the extent of the damage to your photographs. Photos that have minimal damage to them, or that don't require extensive restoration may be back to you within one day. If the photo needs a lot of detailed repair, the procedure will take quite a bit longer.
Most reputable photo repair services will give you a customized price quote based on the restoration that is needed for your photo. You probably will not be able to get an accurate price until the repair service knows what all will need to be done for your photograph.
As long as the photo specialist has enough of the image available to do the necessary repairs and restorations they should be able to restore your photos even if they are very badly damaged. Most specialists have the software and equipment that will allow them to zoom extremely close to make very detailed changes to the digital image.
One word of advice: don't limit yourself when you start to look at photos that need to be repaired. This is a great time to consider what digital enhancements you would like to have done to your photos. There are a great deal of procedures that you could get done, so be sure to look at what is available with your photo restoration specialist.
One popular procedure is to have portions from more than one photograph combined into a single image. This could be accomplished by taking the images of two people and have them put together so the two people appear to have sat for the photo as a couple, or it could mean having several images combined to create a collage.
With either of these procedures, you could then add a decorative background to create a new mood for the photo. A forest background, the mountains, or even a sunny beach are popular choices.
With the technology to do complete photo repairs, there really is no reason to continue to put up with creased and torn photographs. Consult a photo repair specialist to see what services are available and how quick and inexpensive your repairs will be.

Central AC repair or replace?
I called in someone to maintain my HVAC system and was told afterward that my entire heating and cooling system should be replaced including ducts.
My system came with the house which was built in 1989. My house is 2100 square feet.
Since I did consider replacement of the entire HVAC system, I agreed with the HVAC service person to arrange for someone to provide estimates.
The person that did the estimate told me that the cost of AC replacement consisting of the condenser unit and evaporator coils would be around $6000. I was told that my furnace is still working and can be kept, but it is not up to modern efficiency standards. However, I was a bit skeptical since the person did not even try to look inside the furnace. In the end I only arranged for my ducts and vents to be replaced. I will wait and see if it makes any difference.
Given the high cost of the replacement, I have decided to try to repair the condenser unit myself. I am looking at spending around $400 to buy the necessary parts to replace in the condenser unit. Hopefully, I can get a few more years out of the equipment. However, I am concerned that I might waste money here if my system breaks down completely in the near future.
I only use the cooling system about 20 days a year since I moved to my house in 1993. I live in Los Angeles County and the weather is quite mild in my area. I do use the heating function for about 3 months each year. Frankly, I am more concerned about my heating system than my cooling system given that I use it much more often. I am not sure if the furnace is still safe since it has not been inspected before.
Here are some questions:
Is it better financially to repair or replace the AC system?
Should I replace the furnace if I replace the AC system?
Can I just replace furnace only and leave the old AC system in?

What are tenan'ts rights in Florida regarding recurring central AC problems?
I come home today from a day at work to find my place at 86 degrees.
I live in South Florida where I rent a two bedroom. Unfortunately it is not an apartment complex where I would just have to ring the maintenance to fix my problems. It is a condo and I rent from the owner ( a guy from the North East who probably regrets he bought this condo in the first place )
The central AC unit is the Achilles heel of this place. It is, according to a mark on the case, 24 years old.
It has completely been checked up and worked on exactly a month and a half ago and obviously it is on its last leg.
I have been very patient so far, and between the Last Month, Security Deposit and Cash Advance, I made to the Landlord (some of it having to do with the last AC repair), I have more money stuck in this place that I have on my Checking Account. Not to mention my electric bill going thru the roof for a place that is never really cool even when the AC works.
We are at the end of April and it is already getting very hot in South Florida (in the 90s)
My question is two fold.
At this point I want to cease payment of my rent. Is it a good idea or something that could backfire?
Is there anything I could do on an official level to report this situation, protect myself, get it fixed, etc?
Thanks in advance for all pointers.

Can A Stolen Property Report Be Filed For This? NYPD?
Hello All. My mother has an issue that she is driving everyone crazy with. She keeps her jewelry scattered in "safe places" all throughout her house. Most of it which hasn't been worn or seen in over 1 - 5 years. The other day she opened up a drawer (on of her "safe places") to find two empty jewelry boxes. She panicked saying she must have been robbed. She began to blame everyone who entered the house the past 5 years... the painter, the ac repair man, and everyone else, saying they must have done it "on the sneak." She doesn't remember moving it around within the past few years and can't imagine where it went. She has no evidence, no definite suspects, no definite when or where. She just assumes she was robbed of a thing or two within the past few years because it is lost. Is she able to file a stolen property report for the two pieces of missing jewelry she can't find in this situation? And even if so, what can police do with such limited info? Please help...
