Why dont electricians call people back?
I want 2 ceiling fans, a bathroom exhause fan, and a new outlet installed. I found 2 electricians in my area on the BBB website, 2 from yahoo local, and 1 from word of mouth. I describe what I want done when I leave a message, and none of the 5 ever called me back. Its been 2 weeks. I live in central NJ. I had similar though not as bad issues when I wanted bath tile installed or needed my AC unit repaired. I thought with the housing market as it is, home service people would welcome new business, but to not even get a call back from any of them?? Is service this bad everywhere?

Bought a new home a year ago. Have had almost $38,000 in repairs. Agent was a duel agent. ?
She did not go over inspection list or disclosure with us. Repairs started and were found out about after living in the home beginning about two to three months after purchase. AC unit repairs dated back to 2002. Roof had to be replaced 2 months after moving in. Had inspection and roofer letter. Inspector did not open all windows. They were painted shut, and two were broken, and nailed shut. Garage door working on one spring. After calling repairmen they stated they had been here before but with another owner, and made recommendations. We have received no help really from our agent. What could /should we do? Price of home, $777.000. To answer some of the responses. She is a realtor, we knew of duel agent. She recc. inspector. Inspector admitted to not opening all the windows. No details on disclosure of repairs, just checked "yes". Garage door not noted. Roofer letter said roof in fair cond., good for 3-5 yrs. Pictures of roof repairs on inspection. The ac repairmen have it documented dating back to 2002, about the one ac unit needing to be moved, replaced, or a pump gotten for the condensation. It is an upstairs unit, it did not run. The kids had gone off to college. Two units need replacing, 6,000.00 EA. The other one they kept adding free-on to it. It was not recc I or the agent stay for the inspection. She never stays she said.The roof was a little over 16,000.00. Still trying to repair leak around chimney. May need chimney cap. First home bought, did not know any better. Counted on RA to look out for us and to guide us through the process. Have learned a lot. We closed on the home end of August. The AC's were not run until the next summer, thus the repairs did not present until they were run for over a week, 24/7. Thus we called a repairman. Then the Hx was presented. The roof leaked 2 months after moving in. We had been in a drought for over a year, after we moved in, it rained. Thnak you for all your answers.
