Waiting For The Air Condition Company - Getting a Good Night's Sleep

Waiting for the air condition company to come out and fix your unit can be a drag. A/C has a magical tendency to go on the fritz exactly when you need it most, which means you've probably consigned yourself to not getting much sleep in the meantime. Perhaps you've thought about taking yourself and your family to a hotel, but that's terribly inconvenient and many people can't afford a hotel room fee when they already have the cost of the repairs looming over them. The only choice, for many, is to simply make the best of it. Here are some ways you can do just that.

First of all, fans are your best friend when it comes to waiting for the air condition company to make its way out to you. The more you have, the better your chances of getting a full night's rest. Double, and even triple up on them if you have enough to go around. Some stores even sell misting fans, although these are typically expensive and may not be practical for use inside the home. Still, they may serve you well out in the garage or on the back porch, where you can go for a respite from the heat.

Open your windows, if it is practical. Obviously, if you don't have screens up, this won't be a good idea. If you do, however, and you can get a cross-breeze going, you may find that you don't even miss your A/C. Of course, if you're the type that likes to close out the outside world this won't make a good solution.

Most people don't enjoy cold showers, but this is a great opportunity to take one. Take one right before bed and let yourself air dry. It might make sense to put down some towels so that you don't soak the bed with either the water from your shower or the sweat that comes with a night without A/C.

Remember to keep yourself hydrated, but not to the point where you'll need to get up multiple times during the night. Keep a cold glass of ice water by the bed. You can use this not only for drinking, but the cool condensation on the glass will feel nice against your hot skin.

Though it can be difficult to believe, try to remember that people lived without A/C for thousands of years and, in fact, people still do it today-many of them in warmer climates than you can imagine. While it's never pleasant waiting for the air condition company to come do its thing, at least you'll be able to appreciate what you have when that blessed sound of ventilated air comes rushing back through your home.

Hello. My car (1991 nissan 240sx)'s air conditioning/fan system makes a really loud squeaking noise every almost every time I accelerate with it on. However, it never makes that sound when i have it off. It is most likely the climate control system, but what exactly on the system is making it do that? Thank you!

Cantral air condition fan problem, advice please!?
Hi, my AC unit seems to turn on but the fan will not turn on the condensator unit outside the house. I have also noticed that it trips the breaker in the basement. I replaced the capacitor but on the condensator and checked the wires they seem ok. Any advice what could make the fan not work? Btw, cool air does circulate but I turn it off after a few minutes to avoid the breaker tripping. Thank you! tried to move it .. just to see if it would, it would not.. it turns easy by hand though, so it is not stuck by something..
