The other is a thermostat control. This is very useful for saving energy as it will turn of the unit once the desired temperature is reached.
A further factor to consider is how quiet the unit is. You want to buy an unit that is as quiet as possible, particularly if you are going to use it at night.

Honda CR-V Air conditioner replacement - 3200 bucks?
The A/C failed on my 2000 CR-V. A Honda dealer has quoted me $3200 to replace it. The clutch bearing is shot and they are saying that something has 'permeated' the entire system so they want to replace a whole bunch of hardware. The failure was rather catastrophic. It bogged down the engine and the the whole vehicle quit running. I plan to remove the drive belt and get it running without the A/C for the short term. Any thoughts?

How much should I expect to pay for a central air conditioner replacement?
I live in a western Chicago Suburb, my current central a/c unit is about 20 years old, was wanting to know how much a replacement (with install) would cost. My home is about 1300 square feet. With the tax credit plan, I thought it might be a good time to go ahead and do it, especially as they state with an a/c that old, you will recoup the costs pretty quickly.

Does Yahoo actually check Q&A's before giving you a violation? And do they actually check appeals?
Hi, I asked the question "Where can I get an air conditioner replacement for a 1996 Ford Tempo?" and I got the question deleted and a violation notice.
There wasn't even any description, that's everything the question contained.
When I appealed the violation, I got an instant email saying that my appeal was denied.
The hell is going on here?
Can anyone just report a question and have it removed?

Air Conditioner Replacement Procedure?
This may sound like an odd question, but: I'm getting my outside air condenser unit and inside fan coil unit replaced soon (My A/C system in my house).
My question is, when the repairmen replace the system, do they need to rewire my house in terms of the connection from the outside unit to the inside? Or will they utilize the pre-existing wires that are from the a/c system being replaced?
