We have rats getting into our Central Air Conditioning Unit. We set squirrel traps inside it to catch them. However, our Exterminator told us that when a new Unit was installed about two years ago, the original pad wasn't replaced, and we installed a 'bigger unit' which overhangs the existing pad. Of course we have paid about $2,000 to have the wires replaced that were eaten. Our air conditioning company claims that rats could get in various ways, however, these rats are the size of squirrels (probably because they are eating all our wiring). We think that the reason for this (after living here for 14 years without this problem) is because of the pad being smaller than the new unit allowing for really easy access into the unit. The air conditioning company is installing new pad, but will not discount the repair cost. Does anyone have any experience with this type of a situation?

How much should it cost to fix or replace the AC in a 97 GMC SLE JIMMY?
No matter what mechanic I go to, because I'm a female I keep getting screwed over. Need to fix the AC in the truck PEP-BOYS claims the entire air conditioning unit needs to be replaced giving me an est. of over $900 to fix a AC. Can someone help me figure out what the correct pricing should look like and if there are any tests I can do to figure out whats wrong with the AC myself?

Air Condition Unit Lennox 10ACB?
Have a Lennox 10ACB42-9P AC unit that when turned on it continuously runs. Line ends up freezing as well. Had maintenance man out on 3 occasions, it worked for a few weeks each time and then back to all the time and freezing. I am sure it freezes because it stays on, but what causes it to stay on? I would assume thermostat but it is working fine according to repair guy. Finally got fed up with unit and repair guy so have used window AC's for about 5 years now. Any ideas for troubleshooting. Thank you in advance for assistance.
