Air Conditioning
Mini Split Air Conditioning The Ouch and the HealerMini Split Air Conditioning is sometimes rejected solely on the fact that you do not get enough assistance for it. Here is a list of some of the other drawbacks of having the system of Mini Split Air Conditioning and things you can do yourself when you face minor troubles. Mini Split Air Conditioning is very beneficial if you have the budget of that one-time heavy investment and also, if your area of cooling is adjoining rooms and you have identified that there are only specific areas that you would like to cool. The Mini Split Air Conditioning is extremely costly. In terms of the air conditioning unit, the installation charges etc. Most importantly, it costs you in comparison to the central air conditioning. Central Air conditioning, in simple language cools more as compared to the Mini Split Air conditioners. The drawback that arises with Central Air conditioning is that it cools even those areas which require no cooling. Hence, there is more pressure on the electrical unit. Also, the unit cannot the exact area to cool. This is where the Mini Split Air Conditioning is better. Since there is a specified area to cool, the electrical unit can estimate the usage and hence your collective charges are lower. Mini Split Air Conditioning is feasible for apartments or smaller homes or areas that are clearly marked for cooling. Also, one has to keep in mind that unless it is your private apartment, you have to consult your landlord or the owner of the property. But this drawback comes with every big installation, right? Some people, even though it might not be a better option to install Central Air Conditioning, go ahead with this alternative simply because it is a more popular choice and much is said in the market about it. There is some thing comforting about the physical presence of a fan unit. But what if a better option for you is the Mini Split Air conditioning, then? Since, there are not many professionals who are equipped to handle these types of units, this also becomes a disadvantage. But, it is nevertheless, utmost important to consider your option irrespective of this factor. Usually the functioning of these ACs accompanies the sound of flowing water. As pleasing as this sound is, do not let yourself get worried because of it. The Refridgerant makes a certain sound and that's it! You need to, although, regularly check the filters and electrical connections just for safety and as a precaution.

Any playful small animals that can be kept as pets(please read description)?
I'm not sure what kind of pet I want.
I'd love a small animal that has the personality of a rat, because rats seem like really good pets. But my mom won't let me have a rat, because she's scared of them.
I can't have a chinchilla because they need cool temperatures, and it gets pretty hot where I live, especially since I don't have air conditioning.
Guinea pigs seem too timid, and slow, and I'm looking for an interactive pet, one that clearly enjoys you playing with it.
Rabbits seem interesting, but they just don't seem to be on the same intelligence and playfulness level as say, squirrels or rats. Plus, for some reason, I'd love to have an animal that can hold things with their "hands" the way a rat or a squirrel does.
So basically, I'd love to have a pet that can be as active and playful as a squirrel, except It's legally not allowed to have a squirrel as a pet where I live.
I can't get a dog because a landlord won't allow it.
And I live in California, and many animals are illegal to own over here, including ferrets and sugar gliders.
And I really wouldn't want to get a bird, because I really don't like the idea of locking an animal that's supposed to fly in a small cage. And I'm aware that if I ever let the bird outside I would have to clip some of it's wing feathers, and I really don't want to do that.

How do I stay cool during the summer?
Where I live, the weather is very warm (about 30 degrees or more daily), and everyone at my school is wearing short shorts too stay cool.
Wearing shorts is almost impossible for me, since I have a condition where red splotches appear on my legs for no reason. They fade after a few days, but reappear very soon. I'm not sure if it's due to allergies or skin sensitivity, so I can't really make them go away. I've tried covering them up with makeup, but it doesn't work without looking extremely cakey and unnatural. The red splotches go up to my knee from my ankle, and wearing knee high socks with shorts is still too warm.
My problem is that I can't wear shorts without people seeing my condition (it's very ugly), and my legs are sweating buckets every time I'm at school with skinny jeans or other long pants. I wear t-shirts to school, but it still isn't enough to keep me cool. Sometimes I get headaches when my body gets too hot and feel like I'm suffocating, which interferes with my studies since my school doesn't have air conditioning.
I really don't know what to do, since I can't wear shorts without revealing my condition. I've gone to doctors and they say my condition isn't life-threatening, but it also won't go away. Will I ever be able to keep cool or will my body always be overheating? Advice is greatly appreciated
Thank you!

Anyone ever go to a rock concert at the Detroit Masonic?
I've never been there but it's going to be in the smaller venue (1500) so I'm wondering - will it get really hot or just normal because of air conditioning.
Also, we will have to stay in a hotel downtown. My husband wants to take a taxi but I'm wondering how we will get back to the hotel so late at night. I have a feeling it will be hard to have a taxi come get us afterwards not to mention having to wait for it in an area we're unfamiliar with. Better to drive or is it easy to get a taxi in Detroit? Also, if we do drive and park at the Masonic, how early do you suggest we get there to make sure we get a parking spot?
Thanks!
