Mini Split Air Conditioning The Ouch and the Healer

Mini Split Air Conditioning is sometimes rejected solely on the fact that you do not get enough assistance for it. Here is a list of some of the other drawbacks of having the system of Mini Split Air Conditioning and things you can do yourself when you face minor troubles.

Mini Split Air Conditioning is very beneficial if you have the budget of that one-time heavy investment and also, if your area of cooling is adjoining rooms and you have identified that there are only specific areas that you would like to cool.

The Mini Split Air Conditioning is extremely costly. In terms of the air conditioning unit, the installation charges etc. Most importantly, it costs you in comparison to the central air conditioning. Central Air conditioning, in simple language cools more as compared to the Mini Split Air conditioners. The drawback that arises with Central Air conditioning is that it cools even those areas which require no cooling. Hence, there is more pressure on the electrical unit. Also, the unit cannot the exact area to cool. This is where the Mini Split Air Conditioning is better. Since there is a specified area to cool, the electrical unit can estimate the usage and hence your collective charges are lower. Mini Split Air Conditioning is feasible for apartments

or smaller homes or areas that are clearly marked for cooling. Also, one has to keep in mind that unless it is your private apartment, you have to consult your landlord or the owner of the property. But this drawback comes with every big installation, right?

Some people, even though it might not be a better option to install Central Air Conditioning, go ahead with this alternative simply because it is a more popular choice and much is said in the market about it. There is some thing comforting about the physical presence of a fan unit. But what if a better option for you is the Mini Split Air conditioning, then? Since, there are not many professionals who are equipped to handle these types of units, this also becomes a disadvantage. But, it is nevertheless, utmost important to consider your option irrespective of this factor.

Usually the functioning of these ACs accompanies the sound of flowing water. As pleasing as this sound is, do not let yourself get worried because of it. The Refridgerant makes a certain sound and that's it! You need to, although, regularly check the filters and electrical connections just for safety and as a precaution.

Upgrading a mobile home central air system?
I have a large single wide mobile home constructed in 1998. It is supposed to be designed for my north-south location. It has a gas furnace/central for heating and cooling. I have had to have the AC "starter" capacitor replaced twice this summer. About a month apart. I had the same thing replaced a couple of years ago. The only Hvac vendor in town that works on mobile homes says it needs or is going to need to replace the outside unit (its a split unit). Estimated to be about $800-1000. How long are central AC units "supposed to last"? This AC unit has never been able to really cool my house when the temperature gets much above the 90's. I live near the Kansas City (Ks/Mo) Metro area. Given we can expect to get hotter summers should I be looking at a simple replacement. Or have the AC "resized" replacing both the inside and outside units. Or should I be pricing a heat pump to insert into my current gas furnace? (is that even possible?)

Central air system only works on one side of house?
For some reason, the central air system works fine on one side of the house, but the other side of the house (where the bedrooms are) has very little air blowing through at all. How would I check to see what's wrong with the airflow on one side of the house, or do I need to call a professional about it?

How do I reduce the noise coming into my apartment?
I have lived here over 3 years. I live in a duplex and I only have 1 neighbor and that's beneath me. The last tenant was quiet and you never even knew he was home. This new tenant is particularly noisy. For some odd reason, she decides to play her stereo loud between the hours of 12am-8am. I can hear her opening drawers, closets, vacuuming, all kinds of things in the wee hours of the morning while we are trying to sleep. One time her stereo was so loud, it startled my toddler out of her sleep. I have left several friendly messages on her door and I have even spoken to her one on one. She stops for a week or two, then starts blasting the stereo in the middle of the night. I don't want to call the cops because I want to keep the peace with her, since she is my only neighbor, she will know i called. Also, due to the noise from everyone's central air system, you can't hear the noise outside...just inside. Do I ask the landlord to do some kind of soundproofing on her end? We are sick of this. She has hardwood floors and I have carpets with throw rugs all over. Yeah, it's mostly the bass we hear from her radio. She also sounds like an elephant when the walks! lol, the pictures on my wall rattle when she walks from one end of the building to the next. Francis Alvez, thank You! You made me lol!!!

How do I get rid of water in ductwork?
I have a central air system where air is only blowing on one side of the house but the other side of the house (where the bedrooms are) has very little air blowing through at all. The ductwork is in a crawlspace under the house. The house is about 3 years old. It turns out that there's actually water in the ductwork itself because the drainage pipe for the air unit was blocked and I guess all the humidity ended up backing up in the system. How do I get rid of the water, what do I need to do to protect against mold infestation, how much is it going to cost, and what other things do I need to look out for?
