Ductless Central Air Conditioners
Ductless central air conditioners are now a viable option compared to the more typical varieties of air conditioners. Being fairly widely used in Asia for a while now, ductless central air conditioners are gaining wider distribution in western countries. This has rather a lot to do with its smaller measurement, lower cost and suitability for retrofitted buildings.
Usually, there are two elements to these ductless central air conditioners i.e. the inner unit and the external unit. The internal unit has a fan, air handler and refrigerant unit. This unit absorbs the hot air indoor and channels it by way of the refrigerant tube to the exterior unit. The external unit comprises the compressor and condenser elements. Together these two devices operate to chill the air indoor.
Depending on the type of air-con in addition to your constructing design, you can see ductless central air conditioners that has one outdoor unit and many indoor units connected to this single outside unit. In lots of situations, it's possible you'll prefer to just have separate units i.e. one indoor and out of doors unit for every room or zone in your building. The important thing to this is to ensure that you preserve and repair all parts of your ductless central air conditioners regularly.
For example, the principle factor for you to be careful relating to operating these ductless central air conditioners is the grime and particles that are likely to get sucked into the filters and coils. The indoor unit is usually easier to clean as you may simply extract the air filter and wash it clean. It is the outdoor units of those ductless central air conditioners that require extra care and attention. A quick note here, since these are electrical appliances, please ensure you disconnect any electrical power lines to these units before you start opening and cleaning them.
To remove grime, undo the housing screws on the top of your ductless central air conditioners and open the compartment panels. Lift out any leaves or debris you might find in the coil enclosure. You may then clean the skin of the coil with a smooth brush. Be sure you brush in line with the fins. That is probably the most time consuming part of your cleaning work as plenty of dust are inclined to accumulate within the fins when the unit is operating. If you find any fins that are smashed or squashed collectively, see if you can straighten them out with one thing like a toothpick or a specialty fin-tube comb so long as you might be careful not to cause any harm to those delicate elements of your ductless central air conditioners.
Other things to keep up in most ductless central air conditioners are the extent of the condenser unit and the condensate line. It is advisable to ensure the exterior unit is level always to scale back the strain on one side that can wear out the bearings inside. As for the condensate line, if these are clogged by bacterial slime which typically may be found in condensate water in most ductless central air conditioners, it should get clogged.
In the event you really feel cleaning your ductless central air conditioners are just an excessive amount of work, you will get a contractor to do that for you. It typically takes less than an hour, especially if the contractor has the precise tools and tools to clean them.

Whole House Fan or Ductless AC?
I own a 1960 Garrison Colonial without central AC (house is about 1800 sf). To add central AC I would have to also install duct work (very expensive). So I am looking at A) Ductless ACs (look ugly but they apparently work ok) OR B) A Whole House Fan. Has anyone else compared the two? What did you buy, and how did it work out? Thanks! (BTW, I do use window ACs now, but I'm a single Mom and lugging them out each year is a real pain).
Please note: I am not considering central AC as an option. Only a ductless AC or a WHF. Thanks!

Buying goods in Canada and bringing them across the boarder to US?
Buying goods in Canada and bringing them across the boarder to US
Long story short I can buy ductless AC units in Canada for $800 that cost $2700 in US with shipping. So I?m considering driving to Canada in my van and buying 3 units for personal use, not resale. Will I have problem at the boarder? Do they check what?s inside van? Is there some paperwork I need to fill out. Please be specific. Thanks
