Air Conditioning Efficiency in Fort Worth Texas

Air Conditioning systems have a SEER rating. In a nutshell it describes how effective the air conditioner is at cooling your home or business while saving electricity. Energy Star qualified central air conditioning units are about 14% more efficient than non-Energy Star units.

What's great about being identified with the Energy Star label is that it is not a marketing gimmick but rather a government backed program which was established to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and other pollutants caused by the inefficient use of energy. The Energy Star logo makes it easy to identify products which qualify under this government standard. Energy efficient appliances save you money on utility bills without sacrificing performance, features, or comfort. Because Energy Star appliances lower your expenses on utility bills, you will recover your cost within a reasonable period of time.

However, as with any mechanical device, its efficient operation largely depends on how the air conditioning unit is maintained. According to the Koppen climate classification system, Fort Worth and Arlington Texas have a humid subtropical climate which makes it very important to keep up your air conditioning system in order to feel an ideal comfort level in your home.

An easy do-it-yourself monthly routine to maintain your air conditioning unit is to inspect, clean, or change your air filters on a regular basis. Doing so will prevent dust and dirt from building up in the system. Dirty filters will restrict the air flow which causes the air conditioner to work more aggressively to maintain the desired indoor temperature.

A home owner's worst nightmare is costly upkeep and/or early system failure caused by lack of continued maintenance. In order to prevent such a catastrophe an annual professional tune up should be completed by a qualified air conditioning contractor such as McBride Mechanical Air Conditioning Contractors based in Fort Worth and Arlington, TX.

A professional annual tune-up will comprise of checking all system controls throughout your home, lubricating all moving parts, cleaning evaporator and condenser air conditioning coils, checking your refrigerant level, cleaning/adjusting blower components, tightening all electrical connections, and inspecting the condensate drain.

Maintaining your cooling system will ensure that your air conditioning unit will operate at its peak operation level to provide you with years of comfort.

Home Air Conditioning Fan mode?
Apparently, I can't type today. In case you see the mistake, I meant, "WILL this work in the on position?" :) My husband is currently away & I am a little stupid when it comes to our air conditioning. I've turned the air off, but the fan is on auto. If I turn the fan to the on position, with this work, or does the air have to be in on position, too? I can't hear a difference in our system (the unit is in our attic & we have a wall thermostat), so I'm not sure if having the fan in on position is doing anything at all. Also, is running only the fan as costly as running the cooling? I had the windows opened & needed a little more circulation, so I turned the AC to the off position & was just wondering if turning the fan to the on position would add this extra circulation? We don't need the AC on if the windows are open...got that part down. :)

Need Help identifying ac blower motor wires in home air conditioning?
So, my old blower motor started smoking, and sparking, I took it in, and bought a new one, the guy also sold me a new capacator with it, and hooked it up for me... BUT I'm confused which wires go where. I took pictures... http://picasaweb.google.com/damien59/EdSAirConditioner?feat=directlink The old motor (both are 240v) had 3 wires connected, 2 going to the capacator, and 1 going to a black relay box i believe. the NEW motor has 2 seperate wires just for the capacator.. and then also a black and white one.. (not using blue or red which are low and med speed) Any help would be appreciated. -Damian Gonna go just start probing around with the motor,,, no answers yet here :-(
