A further factor to consider is how quiet the unit is. You want to buy an unit that is as quiet as possible, particularly if you are going to use it at night.

I acquired a window A/C unit that puts out 73� F on a 100� F day humidity 80% but it's temporarily sitting on my truck tailgate running. Would it cool considerably better if it was recycling the air and cooling it down installed in my shed wall or will it continue to only put out 73� ? I've heard of the 19� F difference that A/C units can only generate but I was wondering. AS A SIDE NOTE; I WAS MERELY "CHECKING IT OUT " BEFORE I SAWED A HOLE IN MY WORKSHED WALL.. Is using peltier chips to make a miniature air conditioner feasible for a science fair?
I wanted to make a small air conditioner for the science fair this year, after googling around for a while i found out about peltier chips. From what i heard they were mainly used for cooling computer systems, however i found one article were a car air conditioner system was built for a science fair. I was wondering if i could make a similar system designed for office or bed side use, I wanted to know any information on the supply cost, how complicated the building was, and electricity cost were. Also if you guys know of any other cool engineering science fair ideas, i would like to know.

how much would it cost to make my garage into a room?
I have about a 20x20 ft garage. not sure exactly but it fits a full size pickup and a car. Im thinking about making it into a room. im not too worried about adding flooring to the room just yet. Half of the walls and ceiling is insulated and drywalled. what would be the cost to finish the walls, add a small air conditioner, to make a wall covering the garage door, and add a couple of electrical outlets?
